What is AfterAuth?

Thesis

Explains the key use cases for AfterAuth.

AfterAuth is a product that allow businesses the ability to safely enable earned access before conversion to paid signup, specifically when controlled spend, incremental value offering to prospects, and avoiding a perpetual "freemium" tier for high-cost actions are important.

AfterAuth is designed to provide a sophisticated, easy-to-use and extensible platform that solves the pain point of how to let prospects try your products without giving them a free tab.

Why this exists

I want to help product-led growth businesses running into this problem:

The Problem

If the free plan includes too much, people won’t have a reason to upgrade. They’ll take what they need and stop there. But if it does too little, they might not stick around. The goal is to offer a free experience that’s genuinely useful, but clearly incomplete for long-term or serious use. To find that middle ground, experiment with what’s included versus gated and where the upgrade prompts appear. This process requires ongoing tuning as your product and market change.

Who Cares?

You might care if you are:

  • a founder/CEO who wants to stop leaking computer without killing lead conversion,
  • head of RevOps who wants a better solution than a perpetual freemium that bleeds your bottom line,
  • a developer who has been asked to stop spam without requiring a credit card.
